Bookbinder Mo Folchart (Brendan Frasier) has always had an uncanny knack for bring characters to life whenever he reads books to his young daughter Meggie (Eliza Bennett). While reading her Inkheart, a medieval tale, Mo unleashes a despicable villain who subsequently kidnaps him, leaving Meggie and her friends (real and imaginary) to embark on a magical adventure to track down her father and bring him back to real life.
