Based on the 1960′s animated Japanese TV show, Speed Racer hits the silver screen May 9. Driven by his own skill and the memory of his brother Rex Racer who was killed in competition, Speed is off to a great career. But when the nefarious Royalton corporation offers to sponsor Speed and he refuses, they try to make sure that Speed and his trusty car, the Mach 5, never make it across the finish line. To right the Royalton wrongs, Speed teams up with his trusted girlfriend Trixie and the mysterious Racer-X to compete in the death-defying cross country race called the Crucible — the race that took his brother’s life.
