Be careful what you wish for because it might just come true. These days, more and more people are realizing the magic of tapping into the universe by sending out powerful intentions and manifestations. Even celebrities are coming out of the woodwork and admitting to creating their dream life using the law of attraction and manifestation. For example, social media influencer Logan Paul recently revealed in a tweet that his dream life is coming true after six years of actively manifesting and repeating mantras in the mirror. What's more, in an interview with Oprah, actor Jim Carrey describes how when he was a struggling comedian, he decided to write himself a $10 million check that he one day was able to cash.

If the saying "ask and you shall receive" holds any truth, then what exactly is the best way to go about manifesting? Let's break down this mystical yet very simple law of the universe.

Be clear about what you want

There are several ways to go about consciously manifesting, but first, you need to be very clear with the universe. Think of it like placing an order at a restaurant. You wouldn't be vague and obscure waiting for the waiter to guess your order, would you? Communicating your desires works the same way. Be straightforward about the new reality you want to create. If you're not sure about the details but know you want a new job, for example, then spend time thinking about the feelings you want to have at this new job (via The Queen of Manifestation).

Take time to meditate and visualize your new reality

Many people have a preconceived notion that meditating is this quiet and boring practice made only for monks and yogis. But science is proving that using visualization while meditating can actually help you to manifest. Neuroscientist Joe Dispenza teaches that creating a mind movie or detailed visualization of your dreams programs the subconscious to have new belief systems.

In his book "Breaking the Habit of Being: How to Lose Your Mind and Create a New One," he writes, "Spend time contemplating who you want to be. The mere process of contemplating who you want to be begins to change your brain." All you need is just 10 minutes a day lying down and imagining your future self with vivid visuals to get the manifestation juices flowing.

Write it down

In probably her most famous tweet, singer-songwriter Erykah Badu said, "Write it down on real paper with a real pencil with real intent and watch it get real." When it comes to manifesting, the first rule is to know that your words have power, and writing them down can only increase them. What's more, general icon and legend Oprah Winfrey, who has been using the power of manifestation for years, now has her own The Life You Want Planner in which she gives daily prompts to inspire readers to create powerful intentions for themselves.

Use the law of attraction

The global best-selling book "The Secret," published in 2006 by Rhonda Byrne, shocked the world with its detailing of the law of attraction, a previously unknown and mysterious idea. According to this principle, "like attracts like," including negative thoughts (via Verywell Mind). This is why it's so important to be aware of your thoughts when actively manifesting. Furthermore, in "You are the Placebo: Make Your Mind Matter," Dr. Joe Dispenza says, "Your thoughts are incredibly powerful. Choose yours wisely" (via Goodreads).

Surrender it to the universe

Now that you've done the work of setting your intentions, writing them down, and visualizing them, it's time to let the universe take over. That's right: surrender and let go. Worrying about if your manifestations will happen only delays them based on the law of attraction theory (via Verywell Mind).

You must believe that they are already done, even if you're not seeing evidence of them immediately. The universe works in divine timing, so trust and believe that your manifestations will happen exactly at the right time and beyond your expectations. Building this feeling of excitement for your future is key to setting intentions. Happy manifesting!
